Frequently Asked Embarrassing Questions (FAEQ)
Below are some of the most common, mildly shameful questions we receive at the Rickroll Safety & Awareness Institute.
Is it normal to feel embarrassed after being Rickrolled?
Completely. Many people report a brief period of denial
(“this doesn’t count”) followed by acceptance
(“okay, they got me”). These feelings typically resolve within minutes
or as soon as you successfully Rickroll someone else.
Can I get Rickrolled more than once?
Yes. In fact, most individuals are susceptible to repeat incidents,
especially when the prank is disguised as important work content,
breaking news, or “leaked footage” of something they care about.
Is Rickrolling considered cybercrime?
No. Rickrolling is generally categorized as a harmless internet prank.
RSI does not provide legal advice, but if your lawyer has to say the
word “Rickroll” in court, something has gone very wrong.
Can I report my friend, coworker, or family member to RSI?
You can absolutely file a
Rickroll Incident Report.
We will review it with the full weight of our imaginary authority
and then do absolutely nothing, because we are a parody website.
Is Rick Astley involved with this website?
No. This site is not affiliated with Rick Astley, his label, or any
official entity. We are simply long-time observers of the internet
and our collective inability to stop clicking suspicious links.
How do I stop my brain from replaying the song?
Side-effect earworms are a known phenomenon. Common coping strategies
include listening to literally anything else, going for a walk, or
accepting that the tune is now part of your core memory.
Can I use this site to prank other people?
Yes. In fact, our existence practically guarantees you will.
We only ask that you Rickroll responsibly: avoid serious contexts,
don’t target people who clearly won’t find it funny, and accept that
retaliation is not only possible but likely.
Does RSI offer official certification?
At this time, we do not issue formal certifications. However, you
are welcome to list “Rickroll Awareness Training (informal)” on your
resume if you are prepared to explain that in an interview.
Can I donate to support this nonsense?
Yes. If this site made you laugh, you can support hosting and
development costs by contributing a small amount.
